My Story
I'm a husband, a father, and a coach — and for a while, I forgot how to be all three at once.
I started personal training, nutrition coaching, and lifestyle coaching at 22. I've competed in bodybuilding shows, run marathons and half marathons, and pushed through Spartan races. Fitness wasn't just a job — it was who I was.
Then my daughter was born.
Somewhere between late nights, work, being a husband, and trying to show up for my new family, I lost myself. I gained 35 pounds. I hit my heaviest at 235 — tired, stretched thin, and honestly not proud of the guy I saw in the mirror.
The turning point wasn't a workout program. It was realizing my daughter was watching. My wife was watching. And the example I set now would shape how they saw strength, discipline, and what it means to take care of the people you love.
So I rebuilt — not just my body, but my mindset. I'm down to 200 pounds now, but the number isn't the point. What matters is that I'm stronger, sharper, more present, and finally capable of protecting and providing for my family the way I always wanted to.
That's why I started The Hybrid Dad Project. I know what it's like to be pulled in every direction — work, marriage, fatherhood, and the version of yourself you're trying not to lose. I coach dads through the same battle I fought: not just the training and the nutrition, but the mindset shift that makes it stick.
If you're a father trying to figure out how to show up for your family without losing yourself in the process — I've been there, and I can help you get through it.
Training Principles
Rule #1 - 45 minutes max on training sessions. Focus should be on effort, intention, & rest management.
Rule #2 - Mobility is a daily requirement. It’s built into the warmup, training, & cool down to increase recovery.
Rule #3 - Sleep & recovery are key. Focus on sleep quality when sleep quantity is hard to increase.
Rule #4 - Get up early and get a head start. Optimize your schedule to give you the most flexibility.
Rule #5 - Fitness & movement are a lifestyle. Move more and invite your family to do it with you.
